My Surfing Competition

These days, there is a top surfing competition near my home. I practice hard for many days and decide to join it. I want to win, but I am just a beginner(初学者). None of my family think I can do well.

On the competition day, many good surfers are there. When I compare with them, I look very silly. I stand on the surfboard, wave my arms to keep balance(平衡), and soon fall into(掉进) the water. Both the audience and other surfers laugh a little.

However, I don’t give up. Later, I try again. After that, I can stand for a few seconds. I don’t win the competition, but I am happy. Maybe years later, I can join a top surfing competition again and do better(做得更好).
