Sink or swim

As a child, Bethany Hamilton’s dream was to become a surfer. But when she was 13, a shark attacked her. She lost all of her left arm and nearly died. 

Should she keep going, or give up surfing? She knew things could go either way.

However, just 26 days later, she went surfing again. Two years after that, she won a top surfing competition. The other surfers had both arms, but 

none of them could compare with Bethany.

None achievement seemed possible, but Bethany never gave up. She enjoyed every minute on her surfboard. She worked hard to ride the waves of 

her dream.
